Been finding myself going between computers a lot lately, which makes NetNewsWire less excellent for checking RSS feeds, and so decided to give Bloglines a test.
So far, it’s been a very positive experience–while the browser by its very nature provides a less rich GUI than a desktop application, most of blog reading can be handled quite nicely in such an environment. The Bloglines designers have managed to squeeze a lot of functionality out of the humble browser and the entire application shows great attention to detail.
As a web application, Bloglines can also build in nice extra features like blogroll sharing and blog suggestions based on your current subscriptions, which certainly add some extra value.
And best of all, Bloglines is free and unencumbered by advertising. Kudos to the team behind it.
