A Scanner Darkly

Oh please please please make this not suck: A film adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s A Scanner Darkly that actually aims to be faithful to the novel.

This must be good. Philip K. Dick must have more than one good movie made from his works. The only good one so far is of course Blade Runner, which completely changed my life way back in the day. Incidentally, if you haven’t already seen it, go buy the Director’s Cut and see it the way Ridley Scott intended. The Director’s Cut is that much better. For the complete full experience, also read Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner.

Perhaps the count should really be a movie and a half, since you could include The Matrix: even though Philip K. Dick had nothing to do with the production, it is arguably the most “true” Dick movie ever made.

Hmm. The phrase “most true Dick movie” will probably throw some interesting Google queries this way….

Which would probably amuse Horselover Fat himself greatly.
