And now for unsolicited commentary on today’s Apple announcements: The iPod Photo looks pretty cool, albeit fairly useless. But sheesh, the U2 iPod? Why? Why? Apart from Jobs getting to play rock star with a bunch of has-beens, what is the purpose of this?¹

And did they lock Jonathan Ives in a closet when they picked the color scheme? Black with a red scroll wheel? For shame, Jonathan, for shame!

¹Yes, I just called U2 a bunch of has-beens. You know I’m right.
